Northeast Tarrant Amateur Radio Club (NETARC) is sponsoring a free General Class License Course on three successive Saturdays beginning March 9th. This course is designed to assist Amateur Radio Operators who already hold a Technician Class License to advance to General Class. The course will utilize ARRL’s General Class License Manual (Link) and a combination of Video Presentations and in-class question review sessions. Since the General Class License Examination covers a great deal of material in substantial depth, advance self-study is essential. (Session attendance alone is NOT sufficient to pass the General Class Examination.)
The first session will be held in Rm. 5 of the Southlake Fire Department Bldg, 600 State St., Southlake, TX. Classes will begin promptly at 8:00am and will conclude around 12:30pm. All sessions will be administered by Amateur Extra Licensees. Following the final session on 23 March, Volunteer Examiners will be available to administer the General Class Examination. Although the course is free, an examination fee of $14 cash is required of those taking the examination.
Technician Class License holder who wish to participate should:
- Send a registration e-mail with Name, Callsign and e-mail to: email@example.com
- Purchase and read the ARRL General Class License Manual from ARRL (Link) or Amazon (Link) before starting the course
- Plan to attend all 3 sessions as they are not duplicative
